Re: What car are WHOers currently driving?
Just looking to chop in my 2001 Nazi staff car (BMW 525) in this conundrum what to get next? Missus looking at SUVs but the tide is turning to EVs. Was looking to spend about 15k so it was looking like a Q5 but then i was scanning i3s very different motors but what with all the diesel charges that are starting to get applied is it worth getting a Q5?

Re: What car are WHOers currently driving?
I remember driving along the motorway at 110kmh and feeling something fall down and hit my leg. Pulled over at the next safe spot and found a 2 inch long screw on the floor. Had a really good look underneath the steering column etc and couldn't find a hole for it anywhere.

Very strange. Was waiting for the steering wheel or something to come off in my hand for a year or two.

Mine is a pre-face-lift body with a face-lift interior and think they managed to stick things down a lot better by then. Nothing has fallen off.

Re: What car are WHOers currently driving?
I think they're more likely to have maintained a steady supply of replacement parts than anything else.

Just the way it gave the little rev when you drop down a gear.

And the handling. While all the plastic shit is falling off it, and the window switches are breaking, and the rear number plate light is controlled by a unit attached to the tacho, the thing cornered like it was stuck to the road at any speed I wanted.

The sillyspeed is fantastic to drive but the gearbox notoriously troublesome, there are those that claim they've managed to maintain them so they don't fail, I'm not sure I believe them.

There are less than 200 taxed in the UK, I'm surprised its that many.

Question is perhaps not, however, what car you’re driving but who is driving your car.

I had a 2002 one of them. Selespeed. Was awesome when it was on the road. I eventually got sick of things falling off it, and the maintenance, but it's the best driving car I've owned.

Re: What car are WHOers currently driving?
thanks to a flat battery and having its MOT due i'm currently driving fuck all.

what's the standard procedure for getting an MOT done with a flat battery? i can get it jump started but not more than that. got stopped by the plod last year for driving without an MOT and don't fancy getting done again with the hope that they trust i'm just giving it a run out to charge up the battery.

Not my 'driving around' car but I have a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible. The Bicentennial edition. A thirsty 10 miles to the gallon around town.

Mrs Bungo got a brand new Honda Civic last week. They seem to be getting sportier with each new model.

I haven't driven it myself yet.

Two years ago I picked up a rust free Alfa 156 2.0, bought for £800 with 54000 miles and fsh, fun to drive and just about enough poke for me.

The best thing is, everyone else thinks all alfas are on the verge of falling apart so you can pick up some brilliant cars for dirt cheap.
